After the super textured-ness of Beauty School Dropout, that I started from raw wool, dyed, prepped, and then spun I needed a spinning palate cleanser. That came in the form of a 4 oz braid of BFL from Greenwood Fiberworks that I found when I went to Rhinebeck last year. Because the colors were so vibrant I was able to sit down for some simple, mindless, 2 ply worsted spinning without getting bored.

My yarn has a tendency to be overspun, so I really focused on light treadling and even plying with this skein. It’s not perfect, but it’s a definite improvement over some of my previous work. I’m thinking this is destined to be a hat – it’s frigidly cold here and everyone in the house has multiple handknit head warmers but me.
